DEMO AREA AT HDFI 2021 CONFERENCE
Demo Area aims at demonstrating, in a tangible way, innovative solutions addressing some of the issues still plaguing today Over The Top (OTT) streaming distribution of linear events/channels, such as scalability, latency and User eXperience (UX).
Access to the Demo Area will be possible
– In presence, subject to booking on HDFI web site, on the 4th of November 2021 from 10 to 13 a.m., at the Westin Excelsior Hotel in Rome
– Online, through video recordings of the demos that will be made available on HDFI web site
In the demonstration area, Mediaset intends to show the visitor a preview of the future television services evolution, through a new hybrid and integrated fruition model to distribute OTT linear content and services on Smart TVs.
At the Mediaset stand it will therefore be possible to touch the “Proof of Concept” of the new ETSI standard: DVB-I, created in partnership with other firms.The purpose of the demonstration is “to give visibility to an emerging way for broadcasters and content providers, to improve the quality and user experience of linear television services in OTT streaming solutions”
“The intention is to experiment with DVB-I technology on compatible Smart TV prototypes, a taste of how OTT linear TV services can develop in the near future.”In short, “we intend to offer a mockup to demonstrate basic functionality to a real audience in a real environment”.
